The Amber Room’s PAIA Manual explains how to request access to records held by The Amber Room in terms of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000. It helps you understand what information may be available, how to submit a request, and what process applies when requesting access to records. It also reflects The Amber Room’s obligations under POPIA.
If you would like to request access to a record, please download and complete the prescribed PAIA request form. Your request should include enough detail to identify the record, certified proof of identity, and proof of authority if you are acting on behalf of another person or entity. A request fee may apply where applicable, and an access fee may be payable if your request is granted.
The Amber Room will respond to access requests within 30 days of receipt. Where PAIA allows, this period may be extended for a further 30 days, and you will be notified in writing if this applies.
